If your kids are fascinated by sharks, here’s the perfect opportunity for an exciting activity — shark crafts! This guide will show you how to make simple shark-themed projects using easy-to-find materials. Following this simple guide, you can explore your creativity with engaging shark crafts.
There are many advantages to making these crafts. First, it’s a great way for parents and kids to spend quality time together. Crafting also encourages creativity and imaginative play, and learning about different types of sharks through these crafts can be educational and fun.
Parents can use this opportunity to educate their kids about marine life and enhance their motor skills. With so many different shark paper crafts to choose from, your kids will stay entertained and learn something new. So, let’s get started!
What You’ll Need
- Any other decorations!
Method
1. Draw a large circle (If you have a protractor this might be easier), two fins, and a tail shape on your piece of blue paper.
2. Draw two small circles (these will become the eyeballs) on the white paper and then draw two smaller circles (these will become the pupils), filling them in black. Alternatively, you can use googly eyes instead for your shark craft! Carefully cut out each piece of blue and white card. Make sure you’re using scissors safely.
3. Glue the black dots onto your white circles and press down to make sure they’re stuck.
4. Fold your large circle in half to form a semi-circle. Make sure the straight line is at the top and the curved line is at the bottom and glue both eyes to the righthand side of the semi-circle, just below the straight line.
5. Glue the tail to the opposite end of the semi-circle, with one fin glued vertically just above the straight line, and the other fin pointing downwards towards the belly.
6. Stick glitter or glitter glue to the bottom of the shark along the curved edge (this will be its belly), and any other detail you might want to add. If you’re using glitter, you’ll need to add glue and then sprinkle glitter on top. Let the glitter dry before doing anything else.
7. Draw a mouth below the eyes and there you have it, a smiling shark craft for your bedroom.
Customize and design your shark paper craft to make it unique to you. You can add personal touches, such as different colors, patterns, or decorations. Use glitter, stickers, or paint to give your shark a special look. If you want, you can copy the design on the back, or write a special message and send it to a friend as a unique card using your shark craft.
Another idea is to create shark paper crafts in different sizes so you can have a whole family of sharks, each with its distinct look and personality!
To make your shark paper craft even more fun, try adding movable parts like fins or tails that can wiggle. You can also use different materials, such as felt or fabric, to give your sharks a textured feel.
This shark craft is a delightful activity that both parents and children can bond over. The process of creating these captivating sea creatures can ignite creativity and encourage imaginative play.
Beyond providing a fun and engaging way to spend time together, it also offers educational benefits by teaching kids about marine life. This shared activity can create lasting memories and encourage a love for crafting and learning in young minds.
Consider setting up a crafting station with all the necessary supplies, so your child can easily access everything they need. Encourage them to come up with their own shark stories and adventures as they create. This can help build storytelling skills and expand their imagination.
Don’t forget to take pictures of your finished shark paper crafts to remember the fun you had. Display them around the house or create a special gallery wall to showcase your child’s creative work. This will make them feel proud and motivated to keep crafting.
